Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about SC Contract Exchange.

What is SC Contract Exchange?

SC Contract Exchange is a sealed-bid contract marketplace for Star Citizen organizations. PvP orgs post Requests for Purchase (RFPs) for in-game goods and materials, and industrial orgs submit hidden bids to fulfill them. When the deadline passes, all bids are revealed and the posting org awards the contract to their preferred bidder.

What currency is used? Is real money involved?

All transactions use aUEC (alpha United Earth Credits), the in-game currency of Star Citizen. No real-world money is ever exchanged through this platform. SC Contract Exchange is strictly for in-game trade.

How do I get started?

Sign in with your Discord account, then create or join an organization. Once your org is set up you can browse open RFPs and submit bids, or post your own RFP if your org needs goods or materials.

What is a sealed bid?

A sealed bid means your bid amount is hidden from all other bidders until the RFP deadline passes. This prevents competitors from undercutting at the last second and keeps the process fair. Once the deadline hits, all bids are revealed simultaneously.

Can I see other orgs' bids while an RFP is open?

No. You can only see how many bids have been submitted, not the amounts or who submitted them. Bid details are only revealed after the deadline.

Who can post an RFP?

RFPs can be posted by organizations that have been granted posting access. If your org needs this access, reach out to platform staff via a support ticket in the Discord server.

What happens after the deadline?

All bids become visible and the RFP owner reviews them. They can then award the contract to any bidder of their choice — not necessarily the lowest bid. After awarding, a private coordination channel is created in Discord for both orgs to arrange delivery.

What if a winning org doesn't deliver?

Either party can file a report after a contract is completed. Verified violations result in strikes against the offending organization. Three or more strikes results in a platform ban. Serious cases can be escalated to platform moderators via the Discord ticket system.

Can I appeal a ban or strike?

Yes. Banned organizations can appeal through the SC Contract Exchange Discord server by opening an Appeal ticket. Appeals are reviewed by moderators on a case-by-case basis. Moderator decisions are final unless successfully appealed.

Is SC Contract Exchange affiliated with Cloud Imperium Games?

No. SC Contract Exchange is an independent community platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Cloud Imperium Games or Roberts Space Industries. Star Citizen® is a registered trademark of Cloud Imperium Games.

How do I report an issue or get support?

Open a support ticket in the SC Contract Exchange Discord server using the ticket panel. For account or platform issues you can also reach out to moderators directly in the server.

Can I be in more than one organization?

Currently each user is associated with one organization on the platform. If you need to change your organization, contact support via a Discord ticket.
